Waseela of nabi

Waseelah of Our Nabī (peace and blessings be upon him) before His Blessed Birth

SayyidunāĀdam(peace be upon him) made duʿā’ like this: ‘O Allah! Forgive my mistake with the Wasīlah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah Almighty asked the Prophet Ādam (peace be upon him) (rhetorically) how he knew about Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Ādam(peace be upon him) answered, “When you created me, I lifted my head and saw (lāilāha illAllāhuMuḥammadurRasūlullāh) written on the Throne. Therefore, I knew that this person must be of a very high status. Otherwise, you would not have written his name with yours.” Allah Almighty then said, “I have forgiven you. He will be the last Messenger in your children and I have created you because of him.” The second narration is, “When Allah Almighty created the sky and the Earth, He wrote Prophet Muhammad’s (peace and blessings be upon him) name on the pillars of the Throne and on the doors of Paradise, and on the leaves of the trees in Paradise. It was written that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would be the last Prophet. (IbnTaymiyyah, TārīkhIbnKathīr, Imam Suyūṭī, Bayhaqī, Ṭabrānī).

Allah Almighty states in the Qur’ān:
“And when the Book from Allah (the Holy Qur’ān) came to them, which confirms the Book in their possession (the Torah) - and before that they used to seek victory through the medium of this very Prophet (Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)) over the disbelievers; so when the one whom they fully recognised (the Holy Prophet) came to them, they turned disbelievers - therefore Allah’s curse is upon the disbelievers.” (al-Baqarah, 89)
SayyidunāʿAbdullahibnʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him)said: “The Jews of Khaybar were fighting the tribe of Ghaṭfān. When they met in battle, the Jews were defeated so the Jews supplicated with this supplication: “Indeed we ask You by the right of the theummī (Divinely tutored) Prophet who you promise to send to us at the end of time, that you give us victory against them.” When they met (the tribe) of Ghaṭfān in battle again, they called out with this supplication and defeated them. When the Prophet was sent, they disbelieved in him, so Allah revealed: “…and before that they used to seek victory through the medium of this very Prophet (Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)) over the disbelievers; so when the one whom they fully recognised (the Holy Prophet) came to them, they turned disbelievers - therefore Allah’s curse is upon the disbelievers” (al-Baqarah, 89). (Tafsīr al-Qurṭubī 2/26-27)
